Black Ice Prediction Model for Road Pavement Using Weather Forecast Data and GIS Database

Black ice is a thin coating of on the road surface, which strongly reduces friction at tire-road resulting in dangerous driving when it happens. An appropriate diagnostic black could prevent traffic accidents as well provide timely notice to drivers. Therefore, this study aims developing prediction model diagnose probability formation. Several combinations that can form have been considered, including freezing rain, hoar frost, wet roads. In addition, risky index (BRI) has computed reflect To acquire fast and high accuracy, existing Geographical Information System (GIS) database meteorological data utilized. GIS includes geometry location automatic weather stations, while meteoritical consists air temperature, wind speed, humidity, cloud cover. The developed based Python programming language. A 5-km condition was observed from 1 December 31 2021 determine accuracy. Based results model, formation verified BRI higher than 0.8. may be useful develop program.
